Welcome to ‘God’s Clean-up’ in my Garden Walk, the inspiration for this part of my garden walk comes from the Book of Revelation, the last book in the bible.  When I contemplated doing a story about this in this part of my garden I knew it would include the Ark of the Covenant, a lion and a lamb and the Lake of Fire . All spoken about in the Book of Revelation. This part of my Open Garden walk is about the prophetic pieces in the book of Revelation that go together forming Jesus’ second return or as I have called it “God’s Clean Up”.

If after reading this you realize you want Jesus in your life then go to the tab at the top

“Getting God into your life” or perhaps you are facing death or a serious illness and wish to be comforted in and about death or serious illness. Then please turn to the tab above “Comfort In & About Death.” I am hoping that I can point you in the right direction about how and where to find the comfort you need.

The book of Revelation is about judgement being unleashed upon Satan, judgement upon sin AND judgment upon sinners in this world, its systems and its people through the Lamb that was slain i.e. Jesus. It’s about Jesus taking ownership of the world which is symbolised by the lamb of God opening the seals of the scroll which represents the Title Deed of the earth.

God’s Clean Up will take place as the book of Revelation depicts. It’s about God putting everything in order in this world’s history through the redemption that Jesus Christ bought at His death nearly 2,000 years ago. We know not the day nor the hour when Jesus will return but God has shown us that He will clean up the world and the mess it is in and that He will do it through His son Jesus. There is much imagery in this book and many have interpreted this book in many different ways. I believe it symbolically depicts many literal events & can be understood because much of the imagery that is used can be found in both the Old and New Testaments.

The book of Revelation is actually a letter written by Jesus to His Church and to anyone who has ears, so that means us if we are His Church but it’s also written for all to hear about even if your are not a part of His Church because it deals with the end of all time as we know it today. The world order we see today! Yes there were specific Churches He mentions but it addresses us as all because we have an ear to hear: a phrase used in this book.

In the book of Revelation there are 7 churches, a lamb that was slain which then opens 7 seals of a scroll which unleashes a series of judgments upon the earth, it’s people and the heavens. It is a book about catastrophic events in the world’s history. It speaks about Jesus’ second return where every eye shall see Him, it speaks about the temple of God and many, many other things.  Have you read the book of Revelation? It’s an interesting book indeed. I don’t profess to know all there is to know about this book but I do know that to understand it you need to know your Old Testament and the sacrificial system the Jews used to atone for sins. I know Israel plays an important part in bible prophecy and we must understand Israel’s role in world history before the bible or world history  makes any sense.

Even if you find the book of Revelation a difficult book to understand it is quiet clear who is in control and what is used to bring about the end of world history as we know it. It is the Lamb that was slain, the Lion from the Tribe of Judah, Jesus.

It is also easy to see in the book of Revelation that evil doesn’t prevail and  that Satan is bound by God and that he eventually meets his end in the Lake of Fire(Hell) but I also read Satan is joined by sinners. I guess for me  and you too, we must determine are we one of those sinners. What classifies a person as a sinner?  The Bible is quiet clear that all have sinned (that means me and you too) and unless you have been born again by asking Jesus into your heart then there is no escape from the Lake of Fire (Hell) which is referred to as the second death where the torment is for ever. This place is too horrible to even contemplate and that’s what many do, they don’t contemplate it. They dismiss it and say the Lake of Fire doesn’t exist. They put it out of their mind. God hasn’t and we shouldn’t! Jesus didn’t when He walked on this earth. He mentions a place separated from God. He said that unless you repent you will die in your sins and if you die in your sins then the Lake of Fire awaits you.  I pray that you do consider your final  end upon your death. There is a place for you before God today that doesn’t include the Lake of Fire but you need to be in Jesus to access it.  You can’t stand before God alone because of  your sinfulness.  Are you in Jesus? It’s simple – ask Jesus to come and make Himself known to you and you’ll be amazed what will transpire in your life when you do. I have been amazed with God’s love and how much He cares for me and will continue to do so since asking Jesus into my life when I was 20!  It’s all there for us to have, we just need to ask Jesus into our life and admit we need Him and His help. If you want to know more about what Hell will be like then can I suggest you read the information at the link below. It isn’t a place where you meet up with your buddies. You will be all alone! It’s a place of horrible torment where evil is free to rule all the time without any goodness controlling the evil. Think of your worst nightmare for evil. Now consider that evil unchecked by the goodness of God. That is Hell. Read more about Hell and being lost at the following links.

40.Ark of the Covenant – Rev 11:19 and in Ex 25: 10-22. (You will see the ark depicted in my significant place 8 today)

A long list indeed and certainly not a complete list if you read the book of Revelation. I find the Ark of the Covenant a most fascinating piece of Jewish Temple furniture. Peter (my husband) built a replica of the Ark of the  Covenant for my Open Garden. It remains permanently in my garden as a piece of furniture for all to ponder over when they take a walk in my garden. The real Ark was a box made of acacia wood mine has been made of red cedar.  The real Ark was lined with gold inside and out with a gold lid on top called the mercy seat.  The gold box I asked Peter to make for me for my garden story is the dimensions of the ark – 2 ¼ feet high x 2 ¼ feet wide x 3 ¾ feet long. The mercy seat (the lid on top) had two cherubim facing each other with their wings spread out toward each other that overshadowed the mercy seat. Inside the Ark of the Covenant was placed a pot of manna, Aaron’s rod that budded and the Pentateuch of Moses (the first 5 books of the O/T). There were 2 rings on each side of the ark through which went rods that were used to carry the Ark as no man was allowed to touch the Ark or else he was struck dead. The Ark had to be carried by these long poles!

The Ark was in the Holy of Holies area of the tabernacle and only once a year would a Jewish High Priest enter the Holy of Holies. This area was pitch dark, no light at all entered there because a thick heavy red, blue & purple curtain hung at the entrance. The blood of an animal was sprinkled on the mercy seat that sat on top of the ark for the sins of his people and himself. Every aspect of the ark pointed to Jesus. No one for sure knows what happened to the Ark of the Covenant. The last time it is mentioned in scripture is 2 Chronicles 35:3 and is believed to have disappeared in 586BC when Judah (Israel) was captured by the Babylonians. It has never been seen since with many rumours surrounding where it could be.

It was interesting for me to read recently in a book, that when the women in the New Testament went to see where Jesus was laid after He had risen from the dead, there were 2 angels seated where Jesus’ body had been placed. One where the head would have been and one where the feet of Jesus would have been.  Does this sound similar to the picture on the Ark of the Covenant where the two angels are found positioned over the mercy seat! It does to me.

One could really become consumed by the imagery in the book of Revelation. I hope that my little expose here about the Ark of the Covenant and its depiction of Jesus has shown the treasures that can be found in studying the bible and coming to know Jesus yourself as your Saviour.  Studying the bible and knowing Jesus is never a dull experience.

The book of Revelation also speaks of other things too. It speaks of the separation of the wicked and the righteous, it speaks of hell and it speaks of judgment. It shows Jesus coming on a white horse where He has the name written on His thigh King of kings and Lord of lords, coming on the clouds where every eye shall see Him. This time when He comes it won’t be to die on a cross but to rule as the King of this world.

Even if you find some parts of the book of Revelation difficult to understand it is easy to see who wins in the end and who is in control – God! As you meditate on this part of my garden walk know this – that God is in control and that He has world history at His beckon call and He is controlling the outcome through the Lamb that was slain and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Rev 12: 10  “ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ…..’ If you wish to know more about the book of Revelation and end-time pieces of the puzzle that lead up to the return of Jesus then I can recommend the follow link that I believe is an excellent place to find out more -

In the above links Amy will take you systematically through the Bible and verify without a doubt the  prophetic pieces that go together for Jesus’ second return.

The book of Revelation with its judgements against: Satan; ungodliness; sin and sinners can also be seen in other parts of the bible. In fact to understand the imagery in the book of Revelation you need to understand your Old Testament and your New Testament and know how to put the pieces together. That is why I have recommended the link above. It’s a really great site to assist you. I do hope you have a look.

In Rom 1:18 it says “ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness” and that to be saved from God’s wrath is achieved by believing and trusting in Jesus. This truth is seen in Rom 5:9 “ We shall be save from wrath through Him” & 1 Thess 1:10 “…Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come” and 2 Thess 1:9 “These shall be punished with everlasting destruction” and  2 Peter 2:9 “..to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment” and Rev 21:8 “…all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone”. Also Jesus himself spoke about hell in Matt 5:29 “ …whole body to be cast into hell.” So hell must be a real place if Jesus mentions it.

Scripture is plain that there is a judgment coming and  hell will be experienced if you’re not in Jesus Christ where forgiveness of your sins occurs.  He offers you this now and not after you die.  You only need ask Him for this forgiveness now but before you can do that you need to see you need God. God has many ways to do that and it’s different for each individual.

There are those who don’t believe in an eternal separation from the goodness of God and there are those who believe that you can have a good eternity after this life by being given another chance at life to right the wrongs made in a previous life. There are those who are vague about what sin is. The bible is never vague about any of these matters. Romans 1: 24-31 has a list of what constitutes sin and ungodliness as does Exodus 20:3-17. Have a look now:

Rom 1: 25 – 32

25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator……..women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. ……….men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.  …………….filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. …… gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful…..invent ways of doing evil….. disobey their parents ….no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Exodus 20: 3 -17 – The Ten Commandments

3… .you shall have no other gods before me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God…….

7 “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God,………

8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. …………

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

 13 “You shall not murder.

14 “You shall not commit adultery.

 15 “You shall not steal.

16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or his male or female servant,  his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.”

Do you recognize any of your sins there? I know I do! No one is sinless. That’s the point! God’s laws were made to show us how sinful the human race is. That why we need Jesus. That’s why Jesus died so that we might receive His sinless nature in exchange for our sinful nature. If we do accept His death was our death and that we are sinners we will receive the sinlessness that God needs for us to enter His presence and abide their for eternity. Remember touching the Ark of the Covenant resulted in death if a man came in contact with the Ark. The Ark represented where God came down and dwelt amongst them. He was making a way to approach Him without dying. That’s what the Old Covenant (the Old Testament) was revealing to the Jews. No man was sinless and no man could dwell in God’s presence without dying. The whole Old Testament reveals a God who wanted to dwell amongst men but required sinlessness or else death resulted.  Jesus died so I wouldn’t have to die in God’s presence for the sins I’ve committed. That’s the gospel - Jesus died for you and it’s free for all and for all who believe. Good news indeed!

The Old Testament Sacrificial System was God’s way of showing what Jesus was doing when He died for our sins. He was showing that an innocent holy entity (an animal in the O/T) had to die and suffer the consequences of the wrath of God against sin in order for God to deliver us from Sin. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and substitute for the sins we have committed. Scripture teaches that the wages of sin is death. All sin must be paid for with death and eternal separation from God’s goodness. Have you accepted that your sins have been paid for by Jesus death? Have you received Jesus as you Saviour? I have and I pray you do too. Only one man lived a sinless life and that was Jesus and He also took our penalty for our sins i.e. died for us! So that we might be united with God again now and in the life that comes about after death. He has repaired the gulf that existed between God and man because of sin.  I believe the bible teaches that we have only one chance and that there is only one name and that there is only one way to be saved and that’s through Jesus and its to be taken in this life now!  No second chances after death. John 4:12 says Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. These are not my words but the Bible’s and I’m happy to declare them and bold to proclaim them. I pray you believe them.

May your eyes be opened to the marvels of the bible and to Jesus.

“Getting God into your life”.

The Seventh Trumpet – Revelation 11: 15-19  15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” 16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. 18 The nations were angry, and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.” 19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

I encourage you to read your bible and meet Jesus the Messiah at the door of your life today.
